Idea Makers : Personal Perspectives on the Lives & Ideas of Some Notable People

Though working mainly in science and technology, Wolfram also takes an interest in history and historical figures. Here he assembles essays revealing his perspectives on 15 important figures (16 if you count Russell and Whitehead separately) mostly but not exclusively in the sciences. Besides the above, are Richard Feynman, Kurt Gd̲el, Alan Turing, Jon von Neumann, George Boole, Ada Lovelace, Gottfried Leibniz, Benoit Mandelbrot, Steve Jobs, Marvin Minsky, Russell Towle, Richard Crandall, Srinivasa Ramanujan, and Solomon Golomb.
