My Paryushana is a beautifully illustrated picture book that helps children discover the meaning, traditions, rituals, and values behind Paryushana, one of the most important festivals in Jainism. Through this sacred time of reflection, forgiveness, and spiritual renewal, young readers learn why Paryushana is celebrated and how its timeless teachings inspire compassion, humility, and ethical living. At the heart of the festival is the tradition of saying "Michhami Dukkadam," meaning, "If I have hurt you in any way through word, thought, or action, please forgive me." Children discover how this powerful practice encourages self-reflection, accountability, forgiveness, and stronger relationships with family, friends, and the wider community. Through prayer, fasting, acts of kindness, and the teachings of Lord Mahavira, the book introduces the Jain principle of ahimsa (nonviolence) and shows how kindness, empathy, responsibility, and respect for all living beings remain relevant in today's world. Perfect for families, classrooms, and libraries, My Paryushana helps children understand Jain traditions while inspiring them to practice forgiveness, compassion, and mindful living every day. Includes downloadable educator's guide to help parents and teachers extend children's learning through engaging classroom and home activities.
