Kidd (researcher, Griffith U.) provided testimony in a 1996 inquiry into under-paid wages from trust funds for Aboriginal people in Queensland, Australia, that resulted in a sizeable compensation offer. Drawing on her investigation into these "stolen wages" and parallels with US government treatment of Indian tribes, she makes a cogent case that jurisdictions need to better consider their liability for control over trust funds for indigenous peoples. Relevant laws and case citations are included. Distributed in the US by ISBS. Annotation 2007 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
