Kahn, a builder and author, presents a photo essay of the work of carpenters of the Pacific Coast, from Northern California to Vancouver Island, British Columbia. About 1,200 photos show the design and craftsmanship of unique wood buildings, houses, yurts, and geodesic domes, with descriptions of them and brief biographies of the carpenters, based on Kahn's interviews with them over two years.
