This is the first published edition of the full Harris sisters’ ballad collection, an important source for the Scottish song tradition The sources of the songs and ballads collected by the two women can be traced to locations including Fearn, Tibbermore, Blairgowrie, Dron and Brechin, and the collection features fascinating versions of ballads such as “Johnnie Armstrong” and “Tod Lowrie”.
