This book supplies librarians teaching information literacy with 58 exercises based on the six threshold concepts in the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education (provided in the appendix), to teach students what information is, what forms it comes in, who creates it, and how it can be used. After discussion of the history of the development of the Framework, it presents explanation and exercises related to its threshold concepts: authority as constructed and contextual, information creation as a process, that information has value, research as inquiry, scholarship as conversation, and searching as strategic exploration.
