Drawing on case studies from several Australian and New Zealand programs, this volume explores the relationship between place and identity, and discusses the ways in which outdoor education contributes to the development of identity, and the attendant benefits of this self awareness. Concepts discussed include the development of personal narratives, fostering "knowability," viewing and understanding transitions and place-responsiveness.
