The Shortlist : A Scottish Murder Mystery (Dci Lomond Crime Thrillers)

This is one shortlist no writer wants to be on... When legendary crime novelist William MacRae is found murdered at his Glasgow home, Police Scotland’s premier investigator DCI John Lomond is put on the case. After compiling a shortlist of suspects that includes seven bestselling authors – all old friends of MacRae’s – Lomond and his team head to a Highlands crime writing festival, where the seven are gathering to remember their fallen friend. But a vicious storm is closing in. And not everyone, it seems, has fond memories of MacRae. Or each other. Cut off from the outside world at a remote country home, it doesn’t take long for the whisky to flow, old resentments to reignite…and another dead body to appear. One of them is a killer. But can Lomond sift through all the secrets and lies to unmask them before it’s too late? The Shortlist is shot through with Andrew Raymond’s dark Glaswegian humour and thrilling twists. Taking you from his beloved home city to the north west coast of Scotland. If you like writers like JD Kirk, Ian Rankin, and Stuart MacBride, this addictive murder mystery will have you guessing to the very end.
