Metropolitan Government (Routledge Revivals)

First published in 1991, Metropolitan Government provides an in-depth study of metropolitan government and outlines the need for a unit of government at the metropolitan level. It discusses relevant theoretical aspects of local government reorganization. Developments in metropolitan government in London, Manchester, Melbourne, Toronto, and San Francisco are explored, documenting approximately 100 years of progress. By examining cities in Australia, Britain, Canada, and the United States, the volume provides a good basis for international comparative studies in the field. This book is intended for students and researchers in political geography, political science, policy studies, public administration and urban studies.
