The Estates of Crowland Abbey : A Study in Manorial Organisation

Originally published in 1934 as part of the Cambridge Studies in Economic History series, this book describes nearly three hundred years of manorial administration at Crowland Abbey. Crowland's court- and account-rolls, now held at Queens' College, Cambridge, are the fullest record for the Cambridgeshire manors of Oakington, Dry Drayton and Cottenham, and contain an economic account of the political and legal arrangements in place in the fens during a period which included the Black Death.
