The third edition of this book provides works from both senior and newer scholars, including several Native American scholars, covering major events in American Indian history. This edition focuses on American Indian history after 1900; in fact, a third of the book is devoted to the 20th and 21st centuries. While Major Problems in American Indian History does inherently address the oppression structures that contributed to the many challenges faced by indigenous people in America throughout history and to this present day, it also seeks to convey the resilience and strength of American Indian people over victimization.
