From 1815 to 1821, following the Napoleonic Wars, over 3,500 emigrants, primarily Scottish Lowlanders, participated in government-assisted transportation schemes bound for the Ottawa Valley. By focusing on these migrations, this title highlights the role these emigrants played in political reform in Upper Canada in the 1930s.
