ROLLO AT WORK

Texte à corriger : "Rollo at Work" by Jacob Abbott is a children's book that explores the themes of industriousness and the value of work through the experiences of a young boy named Rollo. The narrative begins with Rollo's initial attempts at work, which are characterized by a lack of focus and a tendency to seek amusement rather than fulfilling his responsibilities. His father, recognizing the importance of teaching Rollo the discipline of work, sets him tasks that are simple yet require perseverance and patience. Rollo's journey is marked by various challenges, such as his struggle with picking up chips and sorting nails, which he initially approaches with a playful attitude rather than a serious work ethic. Through gentle guidance and a structured approach, Rollo's father helps him understand the satisfaction that comes from completing a task and contributing to the household. The story also introduces other characters, such as Jonas, who provides practical advice on how to be a helpful and pleasant companion during rides, and the corporal, who crafts a small wheelbarrow for Rollo, symbolizing his readiness to take on more responsibility. As Rollo learns to work steadily and finds joy in his accomplishments, he évolue from a playful child to a more disciplined and industrious young boy. The book emphasizes the importance of teaching children the value of work and the satisfaction that comes from contributing meaningfully to one's environment.
